I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Gazyva? Is Gazyva safe for nursing mother and child? Does Gazyva extracts into breast milk? Does Gazyva has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Gazyva influence milk supply or can Gazyva decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?
No information is available on the clinical use of Gazyva during breastfeeding. Because Gazyva is a large protein molecule with a molecular weight of about 150,000, the amount in milk is likely to be very low and absorption is unlikely because it is probably destroyed in the infant's gastrointestinal tract. Until more data become available, Gazyva should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.[1] The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Gazyva therapy.
