I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Verteporphin? Is Verteporphin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Verteporphin extracts into breast milk? Does Verteporphin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Verteporphin influence milk supply or can Verteporphin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Limited information indicates that maternal Verteporphin doses of 6 mg per square meter produce low levels in milk. Withholding breastfeeding for 24 to 48 hours after Verteporphin administration should minimize risk to the breastfed infant.
