I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester? Is Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester safe for nursing mother and child? Does Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester extracts into breast milk? Does Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester influence milk supply or can Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Significantly less Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester penetrated from Ovide after 0.5 h versus the suggested 8 h application, without decreasing the product’s efficacy. Avoid applying it on the breast or nipple. Otherwise, cleanse it thoroughly before nursing.

Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester appears to be poorly absorbed after topical application, so it is not likely to reach the breastmilk in large amounts. However, breastmilk excretion of Diethyl mercaptosuccinate, O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate, S-ester has not been studied after application of the 0.5% lotion. Until more data become available, an alternate agent is preferred.[1]
