Is Tazorac Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Tazorac? Is Tazorac safe for nursing mother and child? Does Tazorac extracts into breast milk? Does Tazorac has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Tazorac influence milk supply or can Tazorac decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Retinoid related drug. Transcutaneous absorption miimal (< 3%). Caution if applied in > 20% of the body surface area.

Topical Tazorac has not been studied during breastfeeding. Tazorac is not contraindicated during breastfeeding and if Tazorac is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, some experts feel it should not be used on greater than 20% of the body surface area while nursing because of possible absorption.[1] If Tazorac is used, ensure that the infant's skin does not come into direct contact with the areas of maternal skin that have been treated and the infant does not ingest the product from the mother's skin.
