Indian Senna, Senna or Tinnevelly Senna. Shrub. Leaves, fruits, and flowers are used. It contains anthraquinones, naphtoquinones, flavonoids, mineral salts, polysaccharides (mucilage). Unproved effect: Irritant of intestine. Not absorbed by GI tract, laxative. American Academy of Pediatrics: Maternal Medication Usually Compatible With Breastfeeding.
