I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Adrenal cortex hormone? Is Adrenal cortex hormone safe for nursing mother and child? Does Adrenal cortex hormone extracts into breast milk? Does Adrenal cortex hormone has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Adrenal cortex hormone influence milk supply or can Adrenal cortex hormone decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Adrenal cortex hormone during breastfeeding. It is unlikely to appear in breastmilk and because it is has a molecular weight of 4540 and a half-life of only 10 to 15 minutes. Absorption by the infant is unlikely because it would probably be destroyed in the infant's gastrointestinal tract. Based on animal data, an increase in breastmilk cortisol levels might be expected after administration of Adrenal cortex hormone to a nursing mother.[1] If Adrenal cortex hormone is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding.
