Is Meladinin Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Meladinin? Is Meladinin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Meladinin extracts into breast milk? Does Meladinin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Meladinin influence milk supply or can Meladinin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the use of Meladinin during breastfeeding. Expert opinion indicates that due to the photosensitizing effects of Meladinin, breastfeeding should be withheld for 24 hours after an oral dose to allow for 95% of the drug to be eliminated in the mother's urine.[1][2] The same precaution probably applies to patients receiving Meladinin as a part of therapy for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Use of topical Meladinin is not contraindicated during breastfeeding,[3][4] but avoid direct contact of the treated skin with the skin of the infant.
