Is Meladinine Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Meladinine? Is Meladinine safe for nursing mother and child? Does Meladinine extracts into breast milk? Does Meladinine has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Meladinine influence milk supply or can Meladinine decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the use of Meladinine during breastfeeding. Expert opinion indicates that due to the photosensitizing effects of Meladinine, breastfeeding should be withheld for 24 hours after an oral dose to allow for 95% of the drug to be eliminated in the mother's urine.[1][2] The same precaution probably applies to patients receiving Meladinine as a part of therapy for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Use of topical Meladinine is not contraindicated during breastfeeding,[3][4] but avoid direct contact of the treated skin with the skin of the infant.
