Does Code 7228 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Code 7228 influence milk supply or can Code 7228 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the use of Code 7228 during breastfeeding; however, the drug has been given safely to neonates intravenously.[1][2][3] An alternate intravenous iron product with more published data on breastfeeding available may be preferred. Pasteurization of milk by the Holder method reduces the concentration of iron in milk by about 6.5%.[4]
