I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use HSDB 8247? Is HSDB 8247 safe for nursing mother and child? Does HSDB 8247 extracts into breast milk? Does HSDB 8247 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can HSDB 8247 influence milk supply or can HSDB 8247 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the use of HSDB 8247 during breastfeeding; however, the drug has been given safely to neonates intravenously.[1][2][3] An alternate intravenous iron product with more published data on breastfeeding available may be preferred. Pasteurization of milk by the Holder method reduces the concentration of iron in milk by about 6.5%.[4]
