Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use HuLuc-63? Is HuLuc-63 safe for nursing mother and child? Does HuLuc-63 extracts into breast milk? Does HuLuc-63 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can HuLuc-63 influence milk supply or can HuLuc-63 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About HuLuc-63 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of HuLuc-63 during breastfeeding. Because HuLuc-63 is a large protein molecule with a molecular weight of 148,100, the amount in milk is likely to be very low and absorption is unlikely because it is probably destroyed in the infant's gastrointestinal tract. However, HuLuc-63 is administered with dexamethasone and lenalidomide, two drugs which also have no information on use in nursing mothers. The manufacturer recommends that women receiving HuLuc-63 should not breastfeed.
