Is Empliciti Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Empliciti? Is Empliciti safe for nursing mother and child? Does Empliciti extracts into breast milk? Does Empliciti has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Empliciti influence milk supply or can Empliciti decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Empliciti during breastfeeding. Because Empliciti is a large protein molecule with a molecular weight of 148,100, the amount in milk is likely to be very low and absorption is unlikely because it is probably destroyed in the infant's gastrointestinal tract. However, Empliciti is administered with dexamethasone and lenalidomide, two drugs which also have no information on use in nursing mothers. The manufacturer recommends that women receiving Empliciti should not breastfeed.
