Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Tomtovok? Is Tomtovok safe for nursing mother and child? Does Tomtovok extracts into breast milk? Does Tomtovok has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Tomtovok influence milk supply or can Tomtovok decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Tomtovok usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of Tomtovok during breastfeeding. Because Tomtovok is about 95% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 37 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. the manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Tomtovok therapy and for 2 weeks after the last dose.
