Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one? Is 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one safe for nursing mother and child? Does 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one extracts into breast milk? Does 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one influence milk supply or can 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one during breastfeeding. Because 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one is more than 84% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. It is sometimes given in combination with rituximab, which may increase the risk to the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during 5-Fluoro-3-phenyl-2-((S)-1-(9H-purin-6-ylamino)-propyl)-3H-quinazolin-4-one therapy and for at least 1 month after the last dose.
