Is GS 1101 Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use GS 1101? Is GS 1101 safe for nursing mother and child? Does GS 1101 extracts into breast milk? Does GS 1101 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can GS 1101 influence milk supply or can GS 1101 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of GS 1101 during breastfeeding. Because GS 1101 is more than 84% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. It is sometimes given in combination with rituximab, which may increase the risk to the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during GS 1101 therapy and for at least 1 month after the last dose.
