Is Irressat Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Irressat? Is Irressat safe for nursing mother and child? Does Irressat extracts into breast milk? Does Irressat has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Irressat influence milk supply or can Irressat decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Irressat during breastfeeding. Because Irressat is 90% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 48 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Irressat therapy.
