Is Iressa Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Iressa? Is Iressa safe for nursing mother and child? Does Iressa extracts into breast milk? Does Iressa has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Iressa influence milk supply or can Iressa decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Iressa during breastfeeding. Because Iressa is 90% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 48 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Iressa therapy.
