Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use UNII-0VUA21238F? Is UNII-0VUA21238F safe for nursing mother and child? Does UNII-0VUA21238F extracts into breast milk? Does UNII-0VUA21238F has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can UNII-0VUA21238F influence milk supply or can UNII-0VUA21238F decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About UNII-0VUA21238F usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of UNII-0VUA21238F during breastfeeding. Because UNII-0VUA21238F is more than 99% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 24 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. It is also given in combination with capecitabine, which may increase the risk to the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during UNII-0VUA21238F therapy.
