Is Stivarga Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Stivarga? Is Stivarga safe for nursing mother and child? Does Stivarga extracts into breast milk? Does Stivarga has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Stivarga influence milk supply or can Stivarga decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Stivarga during breastfeeding. Because Stivarga is 99.5% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, one of its metabolites has a half-life of up to 70 hours, and might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Stivarga therapy and for 2 weeks after the final dose.
