Is Vargatef Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Vargatef? Is Vargatef safe for nursing mother and child? Does Vargatef extracts into breast milk? Does Vargatef has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Vargatef influence milk supply or can Vargatef decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Vargatef during breastfeeding. Because Vargatef is more than 97% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 9.7 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Vargatef therapy.
