Is OFEV Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use OFEV? Is OFEV safe for nursing mother and child? Does OFEV extracts into breast milk? Does OFEV has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can OFEV influence milk supply or can OFEV decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of OFEV during breastfeeding. Because OFEV is more than 97% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 9.7 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during OFEV therapy.
