Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use ER-203492-00? Is ER-203492-00 safe for nursing mother and child? Does ER-203492-00 extracts into breast milk? Does ER-203492-00 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can ER-203492-00 influence milk supply or can ER-203492-00 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About ER-203492-00 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of ER-203492-00 during breastfeeding. Because ER-203492-00 is more than 98% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is about 28 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during ER-203492-00 therapy and for 1 week after the last dose.
