Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use PLX 4032? Is PLX 4032 safe for nursing mother and child? Does PLX 4032 extracts into breast milk? Does PLX 4032 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can PLX 4032 influence milk supply or can PLX 4032 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About PLX 4032 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of PLX 4032 during breastfeeding. Because PLX 4032 is more than 99% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is 57 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during PLX 4032 therapy and for 2 weeks after the final dose.
