Is Nexavar Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Nexavar? Is Nexavar safe for nursing mother and child? Does Nexavar extracts into breast milk? Does Nexavar has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Nexavar influence milk supply or can Nexavar decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of Nexavar during breastfeeding. Because Nexavar is 99.5% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, its half-life is 25 to 48 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Nexavar therapy.
