Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use HSDB 7932? Is HSDB 7932 safe for nursing mother and child? Does HSDB 7932 extracts into breast milk? Does HSDB 7932 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can HSDB 7932 influence milk supply or can HSDB 7932 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About HSDB 7932 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of HSDB 7932 during breastfeeding. Because HSDB 7932 and its metabolite are over 90% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, one of its metabolites has a half-life of up to 110 hours, and might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during HSDB 7932 therapy and for at least 4 weeks after the last dose.
