Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use AZD2281? Is AZD2281 safe for nursing mother and child? Does AZD2281 extracts into breast milk? Does AZD2281 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can AZD2281 influence milk supply or can AZD2281 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About AZD2281 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of AZD2281 during breastfeeding. Because AZD2281 is 82% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during AZD2281 therapy and for one month after the last dose.
