Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use AZD-2281? Is AZD-2281 safe for nursing mother and child? Does AZD-2281 extracts into breast milk? Does AZD-2281 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can AZD-2281 influence milk supply or can AZD-2281 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About AZD-2281 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of AZD-2281 during breastfeeding. Because AZD-2281 is 82% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during AZD-2281 therapy and for one month after the last dose.
