Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use KU 59436? Is KU 59436 safe for nursing mother and child? Does KU 59436 extracts into breast milk? Does KU 59436 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can KU 59436 influence milk supply or can KU 59436 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About KU 59436 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of KU 59436 during breastfeeding. Because KU 59436 is 82% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during KU 59436 therapy and for one month after the last dose.
