Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use ZEJULA? Is ZEJULA safe for nursing mother and child? Does ZEJULA extracts into breast milk? Does ZEJULA has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can ZEJULA influence milk supply or can ZEJULA decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About ZEJULA usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of ZEJULA during breastfeeding. Because ZEJULA is 83% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during ZEJULA therapy and for 1 month following therapy.
