Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Benzoylstaurosporine? Is Benzoylstaurosporine safe for nursing mother and child? Does Benzoylstaurosporine extracts into breast milk? Does Benzoylstaurosporine has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Benzoylstaurosporine influence milk supply or can Benzoylstaurosporine decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Benzoylstaurosporine usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of Benzoylstaurosporine during breastfeeding. Because Benzoylstaurosporine and its active metabolites are 99.8% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Benzoylstaurosporine therapy and for at least 4 months after the last dose. Avoiding breastfeeding is particularly important when Benzoylstaurosporine is given with other cancer chemotherapy agents.
