Is RYDAPT Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use RYDAPT? Is RYDAPT safe for nursing mother and child? Does RYDAPT extracts into breast milk? Does RYDAPT has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can RYDAPT influence milk supply or can RYDAPT decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of RYDAPT during breastfeeding. Because RYDAPT and its active metabolites are 99.8% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during RYDAPT therapy and for at least 4 months after the last dose. Avoiding breastfeeding is particularly important when RYDAPT is given with other cancer chemotherapy agents.
