Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use PB 272? Is PB 272 safe for nursing mother and child? Does PB 272 extracts into breast milk? Does PB 272 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can PB 272 influence milk supply or can PB 272 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About PB 272 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of PB 272 during breastfeeding. Because PB 272 and its metabolite are over 99% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during PB 272 therapy.
