Is IDHIFA Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use IDHIFA? Is IDHIFA safe for nursing mother and child? Does IDHIFA extracts into breast milk? Does IDHIFA has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can IDHIFA influence milk supply or can IDHIFA decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of IDHIFA during breastfeeding. Because IDHIFA is 98.5% bound to plasma proteins and its active metabolite is 96.6% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, the half-life of IDHIFA is 137 hours and it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during IDHIFA therapy and for at least 1 month after the end of therapy.
