Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Aliqopa? Is Aliqopa safe for nursing mother and child? Does Aliqopa extracts into breast milk? Does Aliqopa has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Aliqopa influence milk supply or can Aliqopa decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Aliqopa usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of Aliqopa during breastfeeding. Because Aliqopa's half-life is about 39 hours, it might accumulate in the infant. The manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during Aliqopa therapy and for 1 month after the last dose.
