Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Thion? Is Thion safe for nursing mother and child? Does Thion extracts into breast milk? Does Thion has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Thion influence milk supply or can Thion decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Thion usage in lactation

Thion 5% to 10% in a petrolatum base is safe for topical use in children, including infants under 2 months of age.[1] This makes it a useful alternative to organic insecticides for treating scabies in nursing mothers; however, the petrolatum base makes undesirable for use on the breast.
