Is HAL Safe in Breastfeeding

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use HAL? Is HAL safe for nursing mother and child? Does HAL extracts into breast milk? Does HAL has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can HAL influence milk supply or can HAL decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the clinical use of HAL during breastfeeding. After instillation into the bladder, only about 7% of a dose is absorbed into the maternal bloodstream, so the amount of drug excreted into milk is expected to be minimal. If HAL is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. Until more data become available, HAL should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
