Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane? Is (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane safe for nursing mother and child? Does (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane extracts into breast milk? Does (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane influence milk supply or can (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane usage in lactation

No information is available on the use of (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane during breastfeeding. The manufacturer recommends that women not breastfeed during treatment and for 2 weeks following the final dose of (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane. However, because (+)-1,2-Bis(3,5-dioxo-1-piperazinyl)propane is used with doxorubicin, the abstinence period might be longer, depending on the doxorubicin dose.
