I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Lofexidina? Is Lofexidina safe for nursing mother and child? Does Lofexidina extracts into breast milk? Does Lofexidina has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Lofexidina influence milk supply or can Lofexidina decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No information is available on the use of Lofexidina during breastfeeding. Lofexidina is chemically and pharmacologically related to clonidine, which reaches high levels in milk and in the breastfed infant. Although it is not contraindicated during breastfeeding, Lofexidina should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant. An alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
