Used for treatment of narcolepsy. On latest update relevant data on breastfeeding was not found. Pharmacokinetic data indicates that drug excretion into breast milk would be significant. Until more information concerning breastfeeding is available, a safer alternative is preferred.

CEP 10953 is the R-enantiomer of modafinil. No information is available on the use of CEP 10953 during breastfeeding. Minimal information from women who breastfed their infant's while using modafinil found no adverse effects in the infants. Until more safety data are available, CEP 10953 should be used with careful infant monitoring during breastfeeding, or an alternate drug may be preferred.
