Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use ARRY 162? Is ARRY 162 safe for nursing mother and child? Does ARRY 162 extracts into breast milk? Does ARRY 162 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can ARRY 162 influence milk supply or can ARRY 162 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About ARRY 162 usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of ARRY 162 during breastfeeding. Because ARRY 162 is 97% bound to plasma proteins, and the half-life of the drugis 3.5 hours, the amount in milk is likely to be low. However, the manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during ARRY 162 therapy and for at least 3 days after the final dose. For patients taking the combination with encorafenib, the manufacturer recommends that breastfeeding be discontinued during ARRY 162 therapy and for at least 2 weeks after the final dose.
