Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Moxidectinum [INN-Latin]? Is Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] safe for nursing mother and child? Does Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] extracts into breast milk? Does Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] influence milk supply or can Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] during breastfeeding. However, amounts in breastmilk appear to be low and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. If Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, until more data become available, Moxidectinum [INN-Latin] should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
