Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Cydectin? Is Cydectin safe for nursing mother and child? Does Cydectin extracts into breast milk? Does Cydectin has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Cydectin influence milk supply or can Cydectin decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About Cydectin usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of Cydectin during breastfeeding. However, amounts in breastmilk appear to be low and would not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. If Cydectin is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, until more data become available, Cydectin should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
