Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use HSDB 8213? Is HSDB 8213 safe for nursing mother and child? Does HSDB 8213 extracts into breast milk? Does HSDB 8213 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can HSDB 8213 influence milk supply or can HSDB 8213 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About HSDB 8213 usage in lactation

Most sources consider breastfeeding to be contraindicated during maternal high-dose antineoplastic drug therapy. The manufacturer recommends that women not breastfeed during treatment with HSDB 8213 and for 1 week after the last dose. Chemotherapy may adversely affect the normal microbiome and chemical makeup of breastmilk.[1] Women who receive chemotherapy during pregnancy are more likely to have difficulty nursing their infant.[2]
