Question

I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use UNII-2NDX4B6N8F? Is UNII-2NDX4B6N8F safe for nursing mother and child? Does UNII-2NDX4B6N8F extracts into breast milk? Does UNII-2NDX4B6N8F has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can UNII-2NDX4B6N8F influence milk supply or can UNII-2NDX4B6N8F decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Answer by DrLact: About UNII-2NDX4B6N8F usage in lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of UNII-2NDX4B6N8F during breastfeeding. UNII-2NDX4B6N8F is a recombinant immunotoxin consisting of the Fv portion of the anti-CD22 antibody covalently fused to a 38 KDa fragment of Pseudomonas exotoxin-A (PE38) with potential anti-cancer activity. Because moxetumomab is a large protein molecule with a molecular weight of about 63,000, the amount in milk is likely to be very low and absorption is unlikely because it is probably destroyed in the infant's gastrointestinal tract. If UNII-2NDX4B6N8F is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. Until more data become available, UNII-2NDX4B6N8F should be used with caution during breastfeeding, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
