I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Plavitor? Is Plavitor safe for nursing mother and child? Does Plavitor extracts into breast milk? Does Plavitor has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Plavitor influence milk supply or can Plavitor decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

No published information is available on the use of Plavitor during breastfeeding. The manufacturer reports that no adverse effects have been observed in breastfed infants with maternal Plavitor use during lactation in a small number of postmarketing cases. If Plavitor is required by the mother, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. However, since no published information is available on the use of Plavitor during breastfeeding, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
