Is Bitolterol Safe in Breastfeeding
Question
I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use Bitolterol? Is Bitolterol safe for nursing mother and child? Does Bitolterol extracts into breast milk? Does Bitolterol has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can Bitolterol influence milk supply or can Bitolterol decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

Although no published data exist on the use of bitolterol by mouth or inhaler during lactation, data from the related drug, terbutaline, indicate that very little is expected to be excreted into breastmilk.[1] The authors of several reviews and an expert panel agree that use of inhaled bronchodilators is acceptable during breastfeeding because of the low bioavailability and maternal serum levels after use.[2][3][4][5][6]
