I am a breastfeeding mother and i want to know if it is safe to use FEMA No. 2596? Is FEMA No. 2596 safe for nursing mother and child? Does FEMA No. 2596 extracts into breast milk? Does FEMA No. 2596 has any long term or short term side effects on infants? Can FEMA No. 2596 influence milk supply or can FEMA No. 2596 decrease milk supply in lactating mothers?

This is a moss that contains a lot of mucilage, FEMA No. 2596in (Galactose polymers), much Iodine and some Arsenic. The Commission E of the German Ministry of Health has not approved any medical indication of this plant. Traditionally used as a laxative drug. It is also used to make fluids thicker or jelly-like in the food and cosmetic industry. We have to take into account its content of iodine in order to achieve WHO’s recommendations on Iodine supplementation.
