Mother may nurse before entering operation room, and resume nursing as soon as she would recovered from anesthesia. For those long lasting operations, she may be asked to pump-out breast milk previously (it may be done even when she is still under the anesthesia effect in order to avoid bothersome procedures when she had awaken)
