Answer by Dr. Ru: About Gendriv 162 usage in lactation

Natural polysaccharide obtained from the seeds of the leguminous plant cyamopsis tetragonolobus. Indigestible and unabsorbable, it reduces the intestinal absorption of nutrients (carbohydrates, fats). It has satiating properties and is a mild laxative. It is a thickener and gelling agent used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Devoid of toxicity. Since the last update we have not found published data on its excretion in breast milk. Its pharmacokinetic data (very high molecular weight and lack of intestinal absorption) make it very unlikely that significant amounts would pass into breast milk, or be absorbed by the infant. Diet, exercise, and breastfeeding improve blood sugar levels.
