Long-acting benzodiazepine.It was marketed in several countries as a muscle relaxant.Withdrawal from the European market due to serious and frequent side effects. At latest update no published data on excretion into breast milk were found.Despite its high protein-binding capacity, since it has a long half-life, like any other benzodiazepines, could be eliminated through breastmilk in significant quantities and produce sedation to the infant. Short acting benzodiazepines are recommended and use the minimal effective dose, especially in the neonatal period. Asses the child for drowsiness and inappropriate infant feeding. Mother and baby bed-sharing is not recommended when taking this medicine.
